The Royal 35M was made by Royal Camera in Tokyo in 1957. It featured a Tomioka Tominor 45mm/f2.8-16 lens or a 45mm/f1.9 lens with a Copal-MXV B, 1-1/500s shutter. The lenses were non interchangable, and accepted 40.5mm filters. The 35M had a built-in non coupled selenium meter, indexed ASA 12-800 for high and low light levels and for readings with an accessory booster cell, which could be read from the top of the camera.

Variations

The Royal 35M Deluxe or LE featured the 45mm/f1.9 Tominor lens. Two identical export versions were called Ogikon 35E, available with both lens types. The Wirgin 19E was the identical European-market export version with the 45mm/f1.9 lens.
