The Royal 35M was made by Royal Camera in Tokyo in 1957. It featured a Tomioka Tominor 45mm/f2.8-16 lens or a 45mm/f1.9 lens with a Copal-MXV B, 1-1/500s shutter. The lenses were non interchangable, and accepted 40.5mm filters. The 35M had a built-in non coupled selenium meter which was read at the top of the camera, and was indexed ASA 12-800 for high and low light levels and for readings with an accessory booster cell.

Variations

The Royal 35M Deluxe or LE featured the 45mm/f1.9 Tominor lens. Two identical export versions were called Ogikon 35E, available with both lens types. The Wirgin 19E was the identical European-market export version with the 45mm/f1.9 lens.
