The '''Rolleiflex 4.0 FW''' is the follow up for the [[Wide-Angle Rolleiflex]].
It is Rolleis answer to the demand for a [[Rolleiflex]] with a wide-angle lens.<br>
It is designed using the [[Rolleiflex 2,8 FX]] as a base.

* Format : 12 exposures of 6 x 6 cm on [[120]] type rollfilm.
* Taking lens: [[Schneider]] Super-Angulon 1:4 f=50mm, HFT coating.<br>The lens name was later changed in Apogon by [[DHW Fototechnik]].   
* Viewing lens: Heidosmat 1:4 f=50mm.
* Filter Bayonet : Both lenses, size 4.
* Shutter: [[Copal]] leafshutter. Speeds 1 to 1/500 sec. and B.
* Flash synchronisation : Accessory shoe with system contacts. X-sync socket.<br>On film flash measurement with a single SI photo element. 
* Lighmeter system : Coupled, Centre-weighted average metering by two SI photo elements<br> behind the finder mirror, Five-LED display in viewfinder.
