The Ricoh my-1 is an ultra compact fully automatic 35mm point and shoot camera produced in 2001. It was also rebranded as the Dakota MY-1 and sold in Ritz Camera shops in the United States. It was said to be the smallest 35mm camera in production at the time. It is also available in a date back version. It's dimensions are just about smaller than the Minox 35 GT.

It uses a slightly wide angle 30mm fixed focus f/7 lens with a minimum focus distance of 1.2m. The lens is protected by a transparent cover. It is retracted by pressing the red 'on' button by the finder opening, this also powers on the camera. To power off just press the lens into the camera body. To reduce power consumption, if no activity is detected in 2 minutes the LCD and electronics power off. To resume, press the shutter release or mode button.

There are two shutter speeds, 1/60 and 1/125 of a second. There are a number of different shooting modes that can be adjusted with the mode button. Normal, flash on, self-timer and self timer flash-on modes. In normal mode, the CdS sensor detects the amount of light and fires the built-in flash if appropriate. The flash has a very short range of 1.2 to 2m. In self timer mode, after the shutter released is pressed a light is lit on the front for 7 seconds and blinks for 3 seconds until the shutter is released. The self timer even can be cancelled in the middle of a countdown by pressing the shutter button, mode button or pushing the lens into the body to power off.

The film is automatically advanced and rewound at the end of the roll. A small mid-roll rewind button is recessed and is located between the mode button and LCD. E is displayed on the LCD when the film is rewound. The film counter is on the LCD and counts upward during film advance and downwards during rewind. The film back has a cassette as a reminder of the loaded film type. There is a small strap eyelet by the hand grip area and a tripod socket on the base.
