The Ricoh FF-9s is a compact camera with an 1:3.5 f=35mm lens which is protected by a sliding door when the camera is switched off. The camera has an automatic built-in electronic pop-up flashgun, a self-timer, an active infrared autofocus, automatic exposure and automatic film transport. It also has several unique features for a compact camera such as Interval Shooting mode, Multiple Exposure mode, or Remote Control capabilities.

The camera is also known as the Shotmaster AF Super or One Take AF Super. The FF-9sD LIMITED is a variant model to the FF-9s with a transparent body shell and the data back, which was introduced by Ricoh in March 1992 as the world's first transparent body shell camera that can take pictures, and was sold a limited number of 2,000 cameras.
