The Reflex Box is an SLR camera made by KW from 1933. It was KW's effort to present a true SLR in the style of a common box camera. It is very similar in form to the horizontally-oriented model of the Ensign Roll Film Reflex, of about 1925, but whereas the Ensign has only a 'T' and 'I' shutter, the Reflex Box has three instantaneous speeds.

Specifications

  • Type: SLR
  • Manufacturer: Kamera-Werkstätten Guthe & Thorsch (KW)
  • Media: 120 film
  • Frame size: 6×9cm
  • Lenses (both focusing, and with aperture adjustable in stops to f/16):
  • Viewfinder: hooded matte screen
  • Shutter: speeds 1/25, 1/50 and 1/100 sec. plus 'B', and 'T' (set by pressing the B/T/M control down)
  • Film advance: by winding knob on the top, and red window.

Notes

  1. Example offered for sale at Ebay, December 2014 (item 321605926887).
