The Petri Compact E is a half-frame 35mm viewfinder camera produced by Kuribayashi/Petri in 1960. It is an enhancement of the Petri Compact model (also known as the Petri Half) with the addition of a uncoupled selenium exposure meter. This reads Light Values 7 to 16 at ISO 100.[1] The camera is arranged in the vertical (portrait) orientation typical of half-frame 35mm cameras, using Petri's "Green-o-matic" green-tinted viewfinder. The lens is a coated 28mm f/2.8 Orikkor, a Tessar-type lens. The shutter is cocked when the film is advanced by depressing the angular lever located under the lens; this is intended to be operated with the left hand, while the right operates the shutter release.[1] All settings for shutter speed, aperture, and focus are done on rings located around the lens barrel, the top of the camera is devoted to the frame count, accessory shoe, and meter dial. The shutter release button is threaded for a cable.
