Pentax Z-70/PZ-70

The Pentax PZ-70 (Z-70 in US), dating from 1995, was an autofocus 35mm film SLR. It utilised KAF2-mount autofocus or earlier K-mount manual lenses. There was also a Z-70p version.

It has a vertical electronic metal focal plane shutter with speeds from 30s to 1/2000 plus bulb mode. Flash sync is at 1/100 a sec. The self-timer is electronic with a delay of approx 12 sec.

Exposure modes include Av, HyM, P, action, close-up, landscape, portrait and Tv modes. The metering system differs with they type of lens used. Older K and M lenses supports center-weighted metering, while newer F, A, FA type lenses can use a segmented metering mode. The meter has a range of 1 to 21 EV at (ASA 100), and can be set for film speeds from 25 to 5000 ISO. Exposure compensation can be adjusted ± 3 EV at ½ steps. Measurements are made using a silicon photo cell. The built in flash has a GN of 13. The film transport is motorized with film advance at 1.5fps. Power is from 6v 2CR5 battery.
