The Orchid is a Japanese 6×6 SLR prototype. It is only known from an entry in Kokusan kamera no rekishi, itself based on an article in the January 1947 issue of Ars Camera.[1] It is said that the design of the Orchid is similar to that of the Reflex-Korelle, with a focal-plane shutter giving 5–1000 speeds and an instant-return mirror.[2] The lens is said to be a four-element unit-focusing 85/2.7 made by Tōhō Kōgaku.[3] No picture of the camera has been observed so far, and no surviving example is known.
