The Nikon Pronea 6i was an autofocus SLR body for Nikon F mount lenses and IX240 APS film. It was also sold as the Pronea 600i. Kodak made a digital variant of it, the Kodak DCS 315 and DCS 330.

The electronically controlled vertically travelling focal-plane shutter has speeds of 30s to 1/4000 of a sec. in half steps. Flash sync is at 1/180 or slower. A self-timer mode is available with a delay of 10 seconds.

The exposure metering system supports matrix, center-weighted and spot modes. It has a metering range of 0 to 20 EV, and in spot mode 4 to 20 EV (ISO 100, f/1.4). Exposure modes include; Program mode, Aperture priority, Shutter priority, and Manual exposure. In Program mode there is also a mulit and vari modes which has scene modes for portrait, hyperfocal, landscape, close-up, sports and silhouette. Exposure compensation can be adjusted up to 5 EV in half steps. Bracketing is also available with 3 shots in 1/2 of 1 EV. A built-in auto pop-up flash is also in the top housing it has a GN of 20. A hot shoe is also provided.

The automatic focusing system has a range of 0 to 20 EV (ISO 200). Auto focus modes include single, continuous or manual mode with a wide or spot focusing area. Autofocus can also be locked. The camera is able to use H, C and P aspect ratios. The finder has 100% coverage in H mode with 0.84x magnification (50mm lens at inf). The camera back has a rather large LCD display. The film speed is automatically set, but can also be set manually from 6 to 10,000 ISO. The film transport is motorized with drop-in film loading and advances to the first frame. There are two drive modes; single or continuous advance for up to 3.5fps. Rewinding is automatic, but manual rewinding is also possible in mid-roll. Partially exposed rolls (shot with the same camera) can be automatically advanced to the unexposed frame. The film counter is upwards counting on film advance and downward on rewind. The camera is powered by two CR123A battery.
