General
Released in 2002, the D100 was nikon's answer to canon's 10D. It features a 6.1mp sensor and the usual raft of features you'd expect to find on a dSLR that costs £1,200+. It has recently become redundant, in the opinion of many, beacause of the introduction of the d70 that- although costing less- offers many of the same features and even improves on a couple of the D100s (1/500 flash sync speed for example)
