The Coolpix 8800 was released in 2005 by Nikon.

The design of the 8800 is based on the previous Coolpix 8700. Major improvements include updated sensor with 8 megapixels, new lens with 10x zoom, VR (Vibration Reduction) and USB 2 interface.

It uses CompactFlash Type I/II for removable storage. It can be powered by Nikon EN-EL7 lithium-ion rechargeable or 6x AA if using the optional MB-CP10 battery holder.
