The Nikon Coolpix 5000 is a 5 megapixel digital camera with a 3x optical zoom lens announced by Nikon on September 18, 2001.

It uses CompactFlash Type I/II for removable storage. USB interface is used for file transfers. It can be powered by Nikon EN-EL1 lithium-ion rechargeable or a 2CR5 battery.
