The Nikon 35 Ti is one of the most characteristic compact cameras. It has an extraordinarily sharp 35mm f2.8 Nikkor lens, controlled by an infrared autofocus system or manually. It has a built-in electronic flash and switches and buttons to select several operation modes. It is built into a light titanium body.

Its clou is the window on the top which shows four analog scales with "clock hands" as value indicators for:

  • 1. exposure number,
  • 2. aperture,
  • 3. distance and
  • 4. +-0/1/2 under-/over-exposition pre-selection.
