The Minolta Dynax 2xi was the budget model of Minolta's third series of autofocus single lens reflex system cameras with Minolta AF lens bayonet. Despite of its moderate price it was a quite complete camera, with the predictive autofocus that was new in the Dynax/Maxxum/Alpha xi camera body series, of course combined with automatic exposure program. But beside the fully automatic "P"-mode the camera offered "A" aperture priority mode, "S" shutter priority mode and "M" manual exposure mode, thus making it quite complete as a beginner's camera. It even had a button to switch from 8-field metering to spot-metering, and it had a slow sync flash mode.

It was also sold as the The Minolta Maxxum 2xi.
