The Lyrax (ライラックス) was a 4.5×6 camera made by Fuji Kogaku. The lens and shutter assembly was mounted on a telescopic tube. It had an uncoupled rangefinder on the top plate, marked Lyrax in handwritten style on the front between the two round windows. The folding optical finder was on top of the rangefinder housing. The advance knob and body release were on the left of the top plate, and on the right there was another knob, obviously to look like the rewind knob of a 35mm camera. The lens was front cell focusing.

It was advertised in the Oct 1939 issue of Asahi Camera (see this page). At least two versions were offered:

  • f:4.5 lens, Fujiko B B-5-250 shutter, 185 yen
  • f:3.5 lens, Fujiko A B-1-250 shutter, 210 yen
