The DiMAGE Z20 succeeded Konica Minolta's consumer bridge camera Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z10 in 2005, with same futuristically styled body and easy-to-use camera concept, but 5.0 megapixels instead of 3.2.

It has a 6 to 48mm 8×zoom lens, the Konica Minolta Zoom Lens 36-290mm 1:3.2–3.4(Equiv.135), made from 11 element in 9 groups, and shoots images in two formats:

  • 2.560×1.440 Pixel (16:9)
  • 2.048×1.536 Pixel (4:3).

Shutter speeds are from 4s to 1/2000s in programmed AE and aperture priority modes. 15s to 1/2000 s in shutter priority and manual exposure modes. The screen is a 113,000 pixel, 1.5" TFT color LCD. Images are stored on Secure Digital cards. It is needs four AA batteries.
