The C35 MF and C35 MFD are fully automatic compact cameras for 35 mm film, introduced by Konica in 1982. MF stands for Multi Function, the D indicates a data back. Although the camera gives a different impression compared with its forerunners, a line of AF cameras beginning with Konica's game-changing C35 AF, the specifications are almost identical with the exception of the motor-driven film advance. As long as the shutter button is depressed after taking a picture, the focus distance measured by the AF system can be read off from a scale under the lens barrel. Also, the film won't be advanced until the shutter button is unhanded again. The camera is provided with a lens cap, that also covers the viewfinder and the AF system.
