The Kodak Junior Six-16 was folding camera for 616 film rolls made by Kodak.

Model Variants

A number of variations were built under the same name.

German Built

The German built (c.1935-37) design sported a round shutter faceplate and straight struts, a Kodak Anastigmat 1:7.7 f=12cm lens and a leather case. It sported two viewfinders - the first a folding finder incorporated into its housing and another small brilliant finder was placed near the shutter. It also sported a quick release bar at the front of the bed which released the self-erecting bed. The Junior 616 took 6 exposures of 2-1/2 x 4-1/4 images on a single roll of 616.

UK Built

The UK built design was in production c1933-40. It was practically identical to the German built model, also sporting a round face and straight struts, and a leather case - but only a simple Twindar Lens.

Just like its German cousin, it also sported two frame finders - the first a folding finder incorporated into its housing and another optical finder was placed near the shutter. It also sported a quick release bar at the front of the bed which released the self-erecting bed. The Junior Six-16 took 6 exposures of 2-1/2 x 4-1/4 images on a single roll of 616.

US Built

The US-built design was in production c1935-37. It differentiated from its Continental cousins by the "N" style struts. The body leather is embossed with four raised ribs. Models are known with either round or octagonal-face shutters; and either a focusing Kodak Anastigmat f/6.3 lens or a fixed focus f/11 doublet lens.

Junior Six-16 Series II

The Series II omitted the ribbing on the body leather, but retained the dual viewfinders and "N" style struts. Versions with round or octagonal shutters are known, including a fixed focus model with a simple instant/time shutter.

Junior Six-16 Series III

The Series III has straight struts, a single folding viewfinder on the body, and a scale focusing f/8.8 or f/6.3 Kodak Anastigmat. The faceplate of the shutter has wide silver rings.
