Kino Precision was founded in 1959 by Tatsuo Kataoka. It started making lenses for 8mm movie cameras. In 1965 it started making Lenses for 35mm still cameras. In 1980 it started to sell its lenses under the own brand name Kiron. Kino Precision made many lenses for Vivitar, some for Soligor, and maybe some for other trade marks.
