The Gakken Stereo Pinhole is purchased as a kit of plastic parts, and the resulting camera can shoot either paired stereo images 24x34mm or a single 24x72mm panorama.[1]

It is also supplied with a simple lens and the option of an "instant" shutter setting.

The camera was (and is) distributed as issue no. 14 (December 2006) of Gakken's magazine Otona no kagaku (大人の科学). As of February 2012, the magazine is still offered for sale.
