The Favorit V was just one of Emil Wünsche's Favorit folding plate cameras of the late 1890s. Variant V had the advantage to be quite flat when folded so that a bicycle frame bag of the brand Waterproof was available for it. Thus it could be advertised as optimal tourist's camera. The cameras had a built-in moment shutter behind the lens board. The shutter allowed speeds up to 1/100 sec. The camera allowed lens board movements and double extension of the bellows. The camera was delivered with extra accessories to use it as stereoscope.

The images of the Favorit cameras show no lens on the lens board. Maybe it was the secret behind the name Favorit: The user could mount his favourite lens.
