Chinon CE-4s specifications

Same specifications as for Chinon CE-4, but with with the following changes:

  • Shutter speeds: stepless speeds from 8 to 1/1000 sec. on automatic; 13 speeds from 4 to 1/1000 sec. on manual for CE4, but stepless speeds from 4 to 1/2000 sec. on automatic; 13 speeds from 2 to 1/2000 sec. on manual for CE-4s.
  • Viewfinder: Over exposure LED blinks and under exposure LED will glow when exposure is -2EV and will flash at-2EV or lower for CE4, but over exposure LED blinks and under exposure LED will glow when exposure is -2EV and will flash at-2EV or lower for CE-4s. The CE-4s added a "Judas window" to show the lens aperture in the viewfinder.
  • Exposure range: EV-2 (F/1.4 @ 8 sec.) to EV+ 19 (F/22 @1000) ASA 100 50mm F/1.4 lens for CE4, but EV-1 (F/1.4 @ 4 sec.) to EV+ 20 (F/22 @2000) ASA 100 50mm F/1.4 lens for CE-4s.

The Agfa Selectronic 3 - made from 1980, by Chinon for Agfa - was based on this camera, but had an outwardly different appearance, and altered functional specification.
