The Canon T90 was the most advanced model in the T-series of SLRs and arguably Canon's most advanced FD-based SLR ever, although F-1 owners might take a different view.

The T90 featured advanced metering (center weighted average, selective and spot metering), built-in motor wind (up to 4,5 frames per second), and many other features (an advanced program mode, time and aperture priority modes). The body design, by Luigi Colani, was given special consideration and was a move away from the square linear designs of earlier cameras.

In many ways the T90 pioneered features and design principles which were to become the standard for the later EOS series of autofocus SLR cameras.
