The RC-570 still-video camera was introduced in 1992 by Canon as a late and full-featured model in its series of electronic cameras using the "video floppy" storage standard. These were not yet digital cameras (which were only just emerging) but rather store still frames of analog television scan lines.
This model boasts a 410,000 pixel sensor and a 3x zoom lens. It is able to take advantage of the improved (horizontal) resolution of the "Hi-Band" video floppy standard.
The Ion RC-560 has equivalent features but is adapted to the PAL video standard for Europe.
