The PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH was a 2007 release in Canon's popular series of compact digital cameras. It was also released as the IXY DIGITAL 10 in Japan and as the DIGITAL IXUS 70 in most other regions. It originated in 2000 with the S100. The styling was inspired by those earlier models (and even the APS film Ixus/Elph), but the specs had been upgraded to a 3x zoom and a 7 megapixel sensor. As the name suggested, SD cards were used for storage (rather than CompactFlash), contributing to a slimmer case.
