Photos with possible copyright issues
Due to the large number of photos added to our site by an equally large number of editors, it's unavoidable that occasional mistakes are made. If anyone notices a photo that may have copyright issues or that presents a problem for some other reason, add it to the list on this page so that our editors can evaluate the problem and find a suitable replacement.

How to work Problem Photos
If you're an editor and looking for ways to help improve Camera-wiki.org, feel free to select one of the problem photos below to work on. The first step is to make sure you understand the copyright and license issues involved. For a detailed understanding read the full explanation on the Adding Images page. To summarize, it's okay to use images if:
- The image is under a creative commons license
- The photographer has given permission to use the image
- The image is in the public domain (see Copyright expiration)
- The image can be used under fair use doctrine
If you cannot find a way to use an image on this list in one of the four ways listed above, it will need to be replaced or removed. Before doing that, however, please make sure you've exhausted all possible methods of meeting one of the above requirements. Some suggested courses of action are:
1. If the photo is from a Flickr user who is not a member of the camera-wiki.org flickr group, invite them to join and submit the photo in question. You can also ask an admin of the camera-wiki.org flickr group to directly invite the particular problem photo.
2. If the right to use the photo cannot be secured, look for a replacement photo on flickr. There are three places to search on flickr where you may find a replacement photo:
- Search the camera-wiki.org group pool
- Search for CC-licensed photos of all flickr users
- Search the flickr commons for public domain photos ("no known copyright restrictions")
3. If an immediately available replacement cannot be found, try expanding your search to all photos on flickr by doing a full, site-wide flickr search. If you find a suitable photo here, it will have to meet one of the four criteria described above before it can be used in the wiki. You will need to email the photographer and request that they join the camera-wiki.org flickr group and submit the photo to it for our use. We can only use this type of photo with the permission of the photographer.
4. If a replacement cannot be found, post a request to the camera-wiki.org flickr group discussion area asking if any of the members can provide a photograph of the desired make and model of camera.
5. If all the above steps have failed, then it may be necessary to remove the image. You may wish to consult with another editor and consider other possible replacement options.

Not all photos have been re-submitted to the camera-wiki.org pool, so continue to check the latest submissions and then move on to replacing problem images.
