A brilliant finder is a simple finder designed to be viewed from above, usually formed of a mirror and two lenses. It gives no focusing help, and the image is reversed left to right. It was mainly used in folding cameras, box cameras and, in a larger form, pseudo TLR cameras. For more detail, see the diagram on the Viewfinder page.
