The '''Bilora Box''' was launched in 1935 by the German company [[Bilora]]. Production was interrupted by the war and resumed in 1949.


[[Bilora]] also produced a version of it for the German company [[Voigtländer]] who sold it as the '''Voigtländer Box'''. Only differences with the Bilora Box being the front decoration/name plate which is round instead of diamond shaped and a round Bakelite type of transport knob instead of the T-handle. The Voigtländer Box was produced from 1936 till 1939<ref name="RolleiReport3">Claus Prochnow, Rollei Report 3, second edition, Braunschweig, Lindemanns Verlag, 2008, <nowiki>ISBN</nowiki> 3-89506-141-7, pages 897</ref>.
