The Bessa name was used by the German firm Voigtländer from the 1930s. Together with the revival of the Voigtländer brand name, it has been used by the Japanese maker Cosina.

The families of models bearing this name or a compound:

  • Bessa (folders): the original family of 6×9 folders, made in Germany by Voigtländer from the 1930s to the 1950s
  • Bessa 46 and Bessa 66: the smaller 6×6 and 4.5×6 folders, made in Germany by Voigtländer in the late 1930s and 1940s
  • Bessamatic: a series of 24×36 SLR with central shutter, made in Germany by Voigtländer in the late 1950s and 1960s
  • Bessa (35mm): the current Bessa line, made by Cosina in Japan with the Voigtländer name
