Bessa

The Bessa name was used by the German firm Voigtländer from the 1930s. Together with the revival of the Voigtländer brand name, it has been used by the Japanese maker Cosina.

The families of models bearing this name or a compound:

  • Bessa (folders): the original family of 6x9, 6x6 and 4.5x6 folders, made by Voigtländer in Germany from the 1930s to the 1950s
  • Bessamatic: a series of 24x36 SLR with central shutter, made by Voigtländer in Germany in the late 1950s and 1960s
  • Bessa (35mm): the current Bessa line, made by Cosina in Japan with the Voigtländer name
