The Bergheil was a folding camera for the ambitious amateur. It was made from 1911 to 1930 by Voigtländer in Braunschweig. Models for different film formats of this versatile folding plate dropbed camera were available. It was made for exchangeable lens/shutter-units. Many of the lenses were of the excellent Heliar-type, invented in 1900 by Dr. Hans Harting for Voigtländer, often combined with shutters of the leading brand Compur. The cameras had a brilliant finder for vertical and a sports finder for horizontal images.
