Note: This camera should not be confused with Ansco's inexpensive Pseudo TLR from 1954 the Anscoflex.
The Ansco Automatic Reflex was a premium-priced American TLR introduced in 1947. The original model lacked flash sync, and film winding did not re-cock the shutter; both of these were remedied in the second version. Introduced as a competitor to the Rolleiflex, the finish quality of the camera was high. But Ansco's original mechanical design led to some quirks and teething troubles, and within a few years the Automatic Reflex had been withdrawn from the market.
